Caixa Carbono Zero CGD Strategy for climate change CCG Zero Carbon 2010 is a CGD strategic programme that aims to contribute for the reduction of the environmental impact of its activities in a logic of sustainable development, seeking, simultaneously, to induce good practice standards among its collaborators, customers and the society at large.
This project is a part of the Social Responsibility of CGD, within which the strategic areas of Environment and Education assume special relevance, namely regarding environmental education and financial literacy that, together with Solidarity are priority intervention areas.
Amongst the actions planned within the scope of the Caixa Carbono Zero 2010, one of the most relevant is the installation of a
solar power central, the largest in the country, on the rooftop of the Head Office, which will power the building, in a vision of good practice for energy efficiency.
In line with its positioning and to fulfil this noble intent, CGD has also been developing a broad scope of initiatives that promote environmental education, involving all the stakeholders and the society in general, of which we can highlight
Floresta Caixa (Forest preservation), the programme
O Planeta Agradece and the
Contest in Furniture Design using Recycled Materials.
