Commitment towards responsible commercial performance

Caixa Geral de Depósitos, as a member of the European Savings Banks Group (ESBG), subscribed the Charter for Responsible Business.

WSBI is one of the largest international banking associations, and the only one globally representing deposits and retail banking (about 90 countries), and develops its activity in close cooperation with international financial institutions and donor agencies, while promoting access to financial services Worldwide, either in developed or developing regions.

In turn, ESBG, in line with the fundamental principles of WSBI, represents some of the largest retail banking networks in Europe, designing, facilitating and managing high-quality cross-border banking projects.

The WSBI and ESBG members are usually deposit and retail banks, or similar associations that have invested responsibly in their region for several decades, establishing themselves as benchmarks for corporate social responsibility activities throughout Europe and the World, and that have made a strong commitment towards sustainable development.

Subscribing the Charter for Responsible Business reflects CGD's commitment towards the following principles of action:

Fair and transparent relationships with customers;
Promotion of financial accessibility and inclusion;
Environmentally friendly business;
Responsible contribution to the community;
Development of responsible relations with employees;
Communication.

The Management Model for Sustainability, the Sustainability Reports with a maximum rating of A +, and the Policies adopted at this level (Sustainability, Environment, and Community Involvement), along with examples and case studies pertaining to CGD's current activities, are clear evidence of general compliance with these operating principles.
