This practice allows to follow up on trends and best practices and to use that information as guidelines to the Sustainability Strategy.

Management (B) score in the Carbon Disclosure Project’s Climate Change Questionnaire (2022)

CDP
The result achieved confirms Caixa’s position and its response to climate issues. Its leadership position as compared to the financial sector average (B-) and the global average (C) stands out. Find out more about Caixa’s response here.

The CDP is a non-governmental organization that provides one of the best known and most comprehensive environmental information systems. Since its foundation, in 2000, the CDP has aimed to promote the business sector’s transition into a low-carbon economy.

Management score (B) in the Carbon Disclosure Project’s Supplier Engagement Rating (2022)

Caixa achieved a Management score (B) in the Supplier Engagement Rating 2022, a result above the financial sector average (B-). This result reflects the quality of the measures developed by Caixa aimed at fostering its supply chain to adopt environmental commitments and practices that contribute to climate change mitigation.

In this scope, it was highlighted the Ethical Principles and Corporate Best Practices, to which CGD suppliers must subscribe and which sets out conduct requirements related to sustainability, being an important mechanism to mitigate environmental risks in the supply chain.

The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an NGO providing the widest, most complete international system of corporate environmental information. CDP’s scoring methodology is an important tool for investors and other agents with decision-making powers to assess the way corporations are managing climate-related risks.

GC Advanced classification in the Communication on Progress of the United Nations Global Compact

UNGC
In 2022, Caixa managed to achieve the highest rating, GC Advanced, in the CoP, which proves the alignment of the practices adopted by the Bank with the Global Compact.
The Communication on Progress (COP) is a direct communication from business participants to their stakeholders in which the latter are informed about the company’s efforts to meet the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact in each of its 4 areas (human rights, labour, environment and anti corruption).

"Robust" Classification in Vigeo Eiris's rating

VE
The rating agency Vigeo Eiris assesses the inclusion of social, environmental and governance factors in the organizations' strategies, operations and management. In 2020, CGD achieved the classification "Robust", with a 54/100 score, standing above the average industry ranking.
